Are you looking to reconnect with nature and unplug from your devices? Follow our 3-day, 2-night itinerary to reconnect with each other while embracing nature in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley:
Day 1: Arrive at Meadowlark Ridge Bed and Breakfast to a warm welcome. After settling in to your room and exploring the house, set off for a short but beautiful drive to Elkhorn Lake in the George Washington National Forest. Take out your kayak to paddle the lake, fish for trout, or watch for bald eagles and other wildlife.
For a fine evening dining experience, make a reservation at the nearby historic Buckhorn Inn and Tavern. Return to Meadowlark Ridge to enjoy our Serta Perfect Sleeper mattresses and Brooklinen bedding products for a restful night sleep.
Day 2: Wake up to the smell of a homemade breakfast cooking for you. Grab a coffee, sit out on the porch to enjoy our wide variety of friendly birds and great conversation with other guests.
After an amazing and fulfilling breakfast, head over to Natural Chimneys Park. Hike the trail to the top for a different perspective of the valley and the top of the limestone chimneys. Be sure to check out the Civil War era Jousting arena at the base.
Next, go into Staunton to visit the Frontier Culture Museum or watch some glassblowing at Sunspots Studios. Stroll through town to see an abundance of small, family owned businesses. Then, go to CrossKeys Vineyard to sample a great selection of red, white, sweet, and specialty wines. Be sure to indulge in a healthy salad or an Arctic Salmon entrée while you are there.
Meander back to Meadowlark Ridge for a quiet and relaxing evening stargazing or reading a book from our library.
Day 3: After a solid nights rest, wake up to a breakfast of our specialty vegetable egg cups, bacon, strawberry bread, yogurt with granola and Belgian pear juice.
Next step, take a walk through our newly formed trail in our on-site private forest before packing the car to head back to reality.
This itinerary is only a sampling of some of our favorite activities for your bed and breakfast vacation. From Meadowlark Ridge you can embrace all that the Shenandoah Valley has to offer!
